DIY Floral Nails Tutorial

With Spring fully upon us, the sight of colorful and blooming flowers have been present everywhere we go. But instead of just admiring nature from a distance, we have been inspired to bring the floral right to where we, and everyone else, can enjoy them – our nails! Here is a unique design that will present you with a garden party right at your fingertips! All colors used are from the Julep line.

Step 1. To start, prep nails by thoroughly washing hands. After drying them, rub a bit of polish remover onto nails to further rid them of dirt and other residue. This will also help your manicure last longer – because who would want their floral nails to ever fade? Next, paint two coats of a light mint polish on nails. We used Susie for our base.

Step 2. After allowing the polish to dry completely, take a small skinny brush and lightly swirl pink flowers sporadically on nails. (We used Susan for this step.)There’s no need to be precise: creative little blobs look just like flowers so feel free to have fun with it!

Step 3. For the last step, pick a purple that contrasts with the pink you used so that it will stand out. Bette was the polish we chose because it perfectly complements Susan while managing to pop at the same time. Using another small skinny brush, carefully place a purple dot in each flower you drew. Then paint several small flowers (or blobs that look like flowers!) around the pink ones, and voila!

We love the way the watercolor look of the flowers adds a dreamy effect to the floral pattern. However, this is only one of many floral nail designs out there. From daisies and peonies to holographic designs and abstract creations, there is a heavenly number of floral nail ideas for you to try and perfect!
