Review of Yves Saint Laurent’s Rose Renaissance

What it is: A highly pigmented nail lacquer to suit your every mood.
What it does: Created by Yves Saint Laurent’s International Creative Director of Beauty, Lloyd Simmonds, this concentrated nail color remains intense with shine and hold for at least four days. Enriched with chil rose bush oil to strengthen and protect nails, the formula has a quick drying time and comes with a new custom-made brush that allows an easy and fast application. The nail lacquer perfectly adheres to the brush that pulls the drop instead of pushing it for a flawless and intense result.

MY REVIEW:
This nailpolish is GORGEOUS, and LONG LASTING. YSL beats both Dior and Chanel in terms of how long lasting it is. I took these photos on my 4th day without a base coat, and without a top coat. The brush is very similar to Chanel but YSL is extremely chip resistent, long wearing and fast-drying. I only used 1.5 coats, since the color is very pigmented. The color also has a very gloss. With all that said, YSL is pricey, but I think they’re worth it.

Review of nails inc. Feathers Effect Nail Polish in Edinburgh

What it is:A chic, long-wearing nail polish to create a feather effect.
What it does: This ultratrendy, long-wearing formulation features tiny feather-like particles in complimentary colors to create a quill effect on the nails. Perfect for adding a pop of color to your spring or summer ensemble, the unique feather bottle and feather print cap make these must-have shades for all. Wear two to three coats to build full coverage or apply directly over a base color for a smooth look.

My Review:
the “feather like” particles are very novelty. The feathers, if layered more than a few coats, get clumpy on the nail. It also doesn’t apply smoothly, because the particles cling together so you have to move your brush around the nail to make sure you have an even distribution otherwise parts of your nail will have more “feathers” than the other parts. The problem gets worse as the formula gets older. The finished look is just “okay” but if you love the novelty, I say get it. If you don’t completely love it, skip it. I wish they would have renamed this nail polish confetti instead because that’s what it looks like: like new years confetti.
